Meet Pooh and Spudley!
January, 1997
Well, two of Ruby's kittens found a home, and I'm delighted to share some pictures of them in that new home. Actually, "Pooh" isn't her real name. Her owners picked a very unfortunate name for her, which they didn't realize probably doesn't belong on a family oriented web site. So, we'll just call her "Pooh," which is the nickname she's gotten anyway.

Our friend "Pooh" is on the
left, and her brother "Spudley" is on the
right.
They're obviously delighted with their new parents.
The relationship that Pooh and I shared when I first rescued her was...
strained. In short, she hated my guts. This, of course, made her
insufferably adorable to me, but I still wasn't too sorry to see her
go.
For the short time I had her, she seemed to want to spend all her waking moments attacking her brother (Spudley). She and Spudley had to be adopted as a pair, mainly because I couldn't get them apart. What little of her time that was not spent attacking her brother was spent on hiding in places that don't exist in three dimensional space. Her current keepers assure me that things haven't changed a bit.
Spudley,
on the other hand, has always been just "Spudley." He's a
good natured little guy.
Where Pooh usually greeted me by hissing and hiding, Spudley always greeted me with the sort of fearlessness you'd expect from a creature that's too young to know better. His keepers tell me that he still doesn't know better - he's got the other cats in his new household completely scared of him. Ya gotta respect that kind of boldness.
Spudley never hid from me, nor did he ever give his
mother a break. I don't think she was at all sad to see these two
go.
By all reports, both kittens are very happy in their new home, although they may be getting handled a bit too much (as the picture at the top of the page may suggest). Their new owners are thrilled that there's a whole web page devoted to their new babies. As far as Pooh and Spudley are concerned, they couldn't care less. Thatz Katz for ya!
